It has been a minute since I have confessed anything to you, my most cherished, social media platform (ok... let's be real, instagram trumps all), but I felt like it was long over due and I am here to remedy the situation.
Confession- I am obsessed with at-home workout videos.
The obsession started at a young age. You see, my mom was a habitual at-home workout guru. She had Step videos from the 80's and 90's, complete with g-string leotards, bad perms and Reebok sneakers. Winsor Pilates videos from the early 2000's and every other form of DIY workout series to grace late night television since 1995.
I practically memorized my Mickey Mouse Aerobics video (also known as Mousercise) by the age of 5, I adored step aerobics, and thought sweat bands made a "cool" fashion statement (...also, it is worth noting that my [body building] father and I had matching 'Hammer' pants).
Several years, Jillian Michael's and Gunner Peterson videos later, I feel as if I am past the point of no return... however, I have started to accept my addiction.
The Nike Training Club Ap, still holds my heart, but here are a few youtube videos worth checking out*-
Tracy Anderson will murder your arms in under 8 minutes... lies? NOPE, I am currently unable to lift my arms beyond shoulder height. Warning- you look like a sorority girl when doing this workout so close your blinds.
Adriene is an odd duck, sure, but she knows her yoga and I rather enjoy her off kilter humor. I adore her yoga for weightloss, detox, and strengthen/lengthen videos.
Many of the old Exercisetv videos are on Youtube, which is fantastic. I like a lot of their Yoga and Pilates tutorials.
Finally, there is a couple who teach a yoga/Pilates/barre esk class called Core Fusion which, though strange, is incredibly affective. Seriously, they are the weirdest but my legs have never looked so good (win win).
I know there are more... though it pains me to admit it. Between online videos, hiking, and walking the stairs in my neighborhood, I intend to be swimwear ready in no time!
Do you have online workout favorites!? Leave a comment bellow to share with the class, we all need new workouts from time to time.
*Some of these videos are... odd...strange... weird... the first time you do them. Drew always jokes that no one 'feels cool' while doing a workout video and he is right! However, he also says that everyone 'feels good' after they do it... so, the ball is in your court, take it or leave it.
