There is something to be said for feeling 'cozy'. It is one of my favorite feelings in the world. When one is cozy it is easier to feel content, calm, comfortable and comforted. It leaves you with the feeling that all is right in the world and life is indeed beautiful.
I know what you are thinking, "but you live in LA... where it is warm year round... how on earth do you get cozy?!" This is a perfectly good thought, however, I have to tell you that it DOES get (semi) cold here, we fondly call it 'jacket weather' and it is THE BEST.
Now, as for getting cozy I have a few tricks up my sleeves.
1- purchase a few P.F. Candle Co. candles and have them strewn about the house (my personal favorite is Teakwood and Tobacco, though their seasonal scents are just as dreamy)
2- invest in a soft blanket that you can wrap yourself up in.
3- wear fluffy sweaters, socks, and scarves when the weather allows
4-take all the aforementioned things, pull the drapes, sip tea and read while snuggled on the sofa
A few days ago Drew and I did just that. It was a cool sunday afternoon and we were both exhausted from a busy week. I lit some candles, pulled the drapes, made some tea, put on some comfy clothes, and snuggled under a giant blanket while reading 'Gone Girl' (which, OMG if you haven't read it DO SO NOW). Drew sat opposite me, equally content reading the latest issue of Monocle. After about five minutes he looked up at me, smiled and said, "Man, I am just so cozy right now!"
Happy cozy season everyone, may it be extra soft and warm.
