FLOP

I won't lie to you, I have some really killer recipe ideas floating around in my head to put up on here for all of your foodie frenzied selves to make and devour... the problem is photo graphing them before they are gone!

This week I made the easiest roasted chicken, raw (vegan) cheesecake (don't judge! Drew couldn't believe how good it was, perhaps preferring it to the real thing [mind blown, I know]), sweet potato lentil curry with kale (my personal favorite), and lemon chia seed scones, just to name a few; one after another, devoured before I could create the recipes and snap a picture or two of the end result.

Today I was left in a bit of a pinch. I wanted to make something fun and a bit  more elaborate, but, to be quite honest, I simply wasn't in the mood when push came to shove. I also realized that I had a couple of bananas begging to be baked with, and I had a recent obsession with chia seeds that I wanted to appease. What I came up with was a banana breakfast bread that was clean, healthy, and damn delicious... or at least that was my intention.

I mixed, blended, combined, and baked. The smell was amazing, tempting, dreamy even. The photos looked great, the light ideal, the timing was all right... and then the big moment, tasting the final product...and, I am ashamed to say, it wasn't my best work. It's not that it was terrible... it just wasn't that mind blowing.

So today, instead of posting something mediocre, I decided to give you some recipes actually worth making, from some of my favorite foodies-

Edible Perspectives chocolate almond flour cake with coconut whip cream... hi heaven.

Love and Lemons loaded sweet potatoes look especially dreamy, not to mention this vegan mac n'cheese (which I will be making asap).

Happy Yolks sweet potato curried quinoa.

Pastry Affair, is making me want to have a pastry affair with these banana, cocoa nib, buckwheat muffins!

Also... tater tot nachos!? aka everything I want in life.

There is so much amazing inspiration on the internet, so now I will go, draw from their depths, and create something "treat" worthy. Stay tuned my friends, there are goodies on the horizon.

xx
