So. Here we are. It is Friday, the birds are singing, the sun is out, and I am staring at the little blinking line... bouncing merrily in torturous rhythmic repetition on the screen in front of me.
But I'm here.
I'm here because I set out a goal to be.
I have recently come to realize how important having goals are. I know, I KNOW, I'm not exactly a kid anymore, I should have learned this lesson long ago, right along with tying my shoes and my abc's; you know what though, better late than never!
Don't get me wrong, I have always had goals... but I don't think I have had goals in a while. What is the difference you may ask, aren't goals and goals the same thing? (the correct answer is no, they are not the same, but you are smart so you knew that already).
The primary difference, is having a goal that you have written down. Not only should you write your goals down but you should have someone holding you accountable to them. You know, a 'goal buddy'... You don't know what a goal buddy is? A goal buddy is someone (or someones, as is my case at the moment) who can come along side you and help you define your goals and achieve them. They come in many shapes and sizes, find the one thats right for you and go from there (aka ask a friend you trust).
In this 'season' as we talked about yesterday, having goals is not only important to me, but fairly paramount (not like the motion picture company btw... but like, really really important). That being said, I will make a goal here, to share some of the things I am working on/towards. It may be a bit messy, so I would ask for your grace in advance.
If there is anything you have been meaning to do, even something like take out the recycle or return that thing you didn't need from Amazon (perhaps something bigger like sending that email you have been avoiding for two months), feel free to use the comments section and share with the class. Whatever your 'goal' may be, I wish you the best of luck in your setting out to accomplish it (because getting started is half the battle).
