You know how in Yoga and meditation practices people chant "I am (insert uplifting message here)"... Oh, you've never witnessed this? Take a gander at LA legend Cafe Gratitudes menu. You can order items such as (but not limited to)-
I am whole
I am kind
I am radient
I am blissful
I am joyful
I am loved
I am transcendant
etc. etc. etc.
These things are lovely and affirming and while I aim to be many of those things at the core of my being, at the end of the day- I am an avocado.
Heres the deal. I am allergic to so many things and avocados have been my saving grace. They are full of healthy fat, protein, oils, and are damn delicious. I lived on avocados for nearly two years; you may think I'm kidding but I'm not. At one point I was eating so many avocados (and by so many I mean like two a day... maybe three) my friend swore she had never seen me eat a meal where I wasn't eating an avocado. Because of this fact she purchased me the best pin of all time, a little golden rimmed half avocado. It is the cutest thing of all time and a tribute to the fact that I am (indeed) an avocado.
Also, I don't know if you are aware but avocados make the perfect travel snack. They are self contained and will satisfy all of your cravings whist flying or driving across the country (or the globe, whatever the case may be). I keep an emergency avocado in my bag at almost all times, you think I'm kidding... I'm not. I keep an avocado, and a tiny container of pink himalayan sea salt in my back pack for flights or in my carry all when I'm running around town all day and know I won't have time to get a proper meal. I throw the in my set back with some rice cakes for an emergency lunch on set. It is the most perfect thing, I'm telling you!
At one point my addiction (we can safely call it that) got so bad that I carried a tiny bottle of hot sauce with me so that I could make my snack even more complete. You may see this as a problem, I see it as a solution.
My name is Kelsey and I am an avocado.
