The holiday season suddenly went from just beginning to 'in full swing'. I'm not 100% sure how it happened... yesterday it was December 1st and today it is the 16th and I am at a total loss for how that happened.
Given the time crunch and my lack of time to make a recipe come to life this past weekend (and that I didn't even post yesterday eeek!), I decided to compile a list of kitchen based gift ideas for the amateur chef in your life.
Knives- They are generally expensive and something most people have a hard time spending money on but they are worth every penny. A good chefs knife or a set of beautiful steak knives will put you in anyones good graces.
Serving wear- Whether it be a cake stand, platter or hand crafted serving board (like the one above), having the right serving wear makes every want-to-be chefs life more exciting. Having beautiful dishes to show off their beautiful food is obviously a good idea (you are welcome). Also serving 'tongs' are a great gift idea... but only when they are pretty.
Odds and ends- Add a little flavor to your (their) life with gourmet salt in a hand crafted salt cellar. Or maybe, if you would like a special someone in your life to become a better cook you could opt for a hand full of new cook books or a few cooking classes... I mean really, the options are endless.
With only one week left before the Holidays hit like a tsunami, take a deep breath and remember to have fun, be well and try to keep your sanity.
