This past weekend marked a relatively monumental thing in my (our) life. On Saturday (August 24) Drew and I celebrated being married for one whole year (insert pause for applause here). We ran away to the mountains and ventured to new places (many stories coming soon).
It is mind blowing just how much has come to pass over the course of this last year. We got married (still crazy), moved 2,500 miles across the country (sorry, old news by now), changed jobs, moved apartments, made new friends, found community, started a company, and decided LA isn’t so bad after all… That is a lot of shit (and that doesn’t cover half of it).
I could regale you with story after story of why I am in love with my husband (even after a year that word is still foreign to my tongue); I mean, out side of the obvious things such as, but not limited to: He is talented, he loves me (and puts up with all of my shit), he is amazing, has a great heart, wants good things, is passionate and inspiring, makes the most amazing hand drawn letters my eye balls have ever seen, and he is a total babe (the gay community and I really agree on that point)…that is just the tip of the iceberg known as Bryan Andrew Melton (yeah… his name is Bryan, shocker right! When I found out I asked him why he went by Drew he responded, “well, I have always gone by Drew… and you wouldn’t date a guy named Bryan would you?” which made me laugh and think I could keep him around for awhile).
There is infinitely more I could say and there will be tales to tell in due time. However, for today, I will keep it short and sweet.
I am lucky. I am thankful. And I am full of love for the life I am able to share (good times and bad) with the man I adore.
