I won’t lie to you, I would make everything I eat in my Vitamix if I could. I am in love with that thing. It is magical and makes all my foodie dreams come true. Smoothies, shakes, soup, hummus, raw cookies, vegan cheese and so much more!I am sorry that so many of my recipes (as of late) are made by using it,actually no, I’m not sorry, because it is amazing and you should probably go buy one. I will wait….
Now that you are armed with the most important kitchen appliance of our generation* we can move forward. Today I am sharing one of my favorite breakfast… desserts…snacks? I choose D)all of the above. It is velvety smooth, full of flavor and vitamins alike; given the fact that this peanut butter-chocolate shake contains a rather unexpected ingredient. It sounds strange… disgusting even, but I promise you it is delicious! Ok, I will stop stalling now and just tell you whats up:
What you will need:
1 Medium Banana
1 cup Organic Spinach (SURPRISE!)
2 TBSP Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2-3 TBSP PB2
1-2 TSP Agave
1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (Or water if you are really counting those calories)
1/2 a cup of Ice
Option- add an additional TBSP of Raw Peanut Butter for extra decadence.
Place all ingredients in the Vitamix (liquid, ice, powders and spinach first) blend on high until smooth.
Play with the variables to find what you like best, I prefer more peanut butter, Drew likes more chocolate. Either way, there is no denying that this is one tasty treat! If you are nervous about the spinach, start with less and add more as you go. I find that it adds a certain smoothness to the shake that is otherwise lacking.
