There are things in life everyone should know, like 1+1=2, the formula for water is h2o, gravity keeps you stuck to the earth, and David Wenzle is writing a book. Oh you didn’t know the last one? Well you should.
I have written about David before, he is one of the most genuinely beautiful people (inside and out) that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Seriously, this is not sugar coating it... it’s just the bald faced truth (there is irony laced in that statement, you will understand soon, or click here and understand now).
In Falling Upwards Richard Rohr talks about the two halves of life. In the first half we build a vessel/house/container, we shape ourselves into this thing and go from there, the second half, on the other hand, is how we fill our ‘vessel’ and more importantly, what we fill it with (I am massively paraphrasing here, but you get the point). David is one of the most pure, heart melting personification of this idea I have ever seen and it has been eye opening and humbling to witness his journey up close. He crafted the first half of his life carefully, turning himself into the "perfect’’ container, if he were a piece of pottery he would have won awards... but, life doesn’t always play kind and cracks formed in the clay of his life. Time, circumstance, kung fu, a pillar, a hospital, a diagnosis, divorce, renewal, restart, community, and connectivity have, over the years, taught him what is important, what he should ‘fill’ his life with...This book is about the journey, the change, the reality of living and how we can (hopefully) live better- with purpose, intention, and connection at the heart.
Why am I telling you this? Because, to put it bluntly- You need this book in your life AND this book needs YOUR help to become a reality. I am not normally one to preach the positive message of crowd funding campaigns but you guys, this one is more than worth it. If you need more motivation go to Kickstarter and watch Davids video. If, by the end of the 5 minutes you don’t have tears in your eyes I would question your humanity (jk... but seriously though, go look at yourself long and hard in the mirror).
David is a friend, a father, an inspiration, and a brilliant author whose heart, mind, and soul were made to be shared. What do you have to loose by watching the video? Go on, you know you want to...
*David, don’t be embarrassed by my over hyping you... it’s not even over hyping, it’s just telling the truth. Thank you for being a part of my life and Drews life, I have tears in my eyes as I write this. You are a gift my friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh, and best of luck!
