THE CURATED LIFE

Leandra Medine, aka The Man Repeller, was spotted during New York Fashion Week by The Business of Fashion sporting a shirt that reads: “All blogs post the same stuff”.

And its true isn’t it? There is nothing new under the sun… However, here I am, and here this is. This is that post. The awkward one where no one really knows who I am, nor I them. I sit stumbling over mountains of words, typing and erasing until the monotonous clicking of my nails on the keys drives me crazy and I have to walk away and start again later.

I am not a writer by trade, I am a stylist. I live and die for the latest trends in hair and fashion. I swoon at the very mention of fashion week and my guilty pleasure is buying over priced magazines that I will poor over until the spines are so broken they fall open, on their own,to my favorite spreads. I am also a foodie. Drew (my husband) and I adore food, all food, from fro yo and taco stands to high end dining; we will take any excuse to have good eats. I love travel, nature, and having a good home… Oh and did I mention that I am a bit of a perfectionist?

All that being said I crave “good” things. This doesn’t mean expensive or ridiculous, it means I enjoy things of quality. My intention with this whole venture is to have just that, intention. To turn focus and look at the things I do, the things I deem worth while. To spend more time on the things that will enrich and not erode my life.

“There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.”

—José N. Harris, MI VIDA

And so… I choose to live.
