...ok, to be fair I have never seen the movie and this post has nothing to do with drift racing...Tokyo however, is where I am headed for the next week and a half so it felt like an appropriate title. I KNOW.
I am very excited... the kind of excited where you have about a million butterflies flapping in your stomach... the kind of excited where you feel a little bit like you may crap your pants but thats ok because you know that it is all worth it. The kind of excited which leaves you feeling like a little kid in footy pajamas (im)patiently waiting until dawn to leave their room on Christmas morning... I really should get some footy pajamas (I mean, it is a REALLY long flight).
I have never been to Asia, but ever since watching Mind of a Chef and Parts Unknown I have been so inspired to go and explore. What should I see? Eat? Feel? On TV they have a 'fixer' and a crew to guide them, translate for them, I am just me and the extent of my Japanese is saying hello and counting to twenty. So basically I'm fluent. Thankfully I am going for work, so the 'unknownness' of the trip is a bit more managed and google makes a pocket translator ap! THANKS INTERNET!
The good/bad news is that I will be busy, which means I may not be updating as often as I would like; also the time change is gnarly. BUT when I get back you can bet your ass there will be a boat load of amazing photos and stories to share.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone! Love to you all I need to go finish packing.
*Yes, those are Chinese lanterns... happy belated chinese new year everyone!
