Thanksgiving is upon us and I must confess that I am having rather mixed emotions.
1- excitement over eating ALL OF THE THINGS
2- sadness that the year has gone so very fast
3- terror over cooking for loads of people
4- joy over cooking for loads of people (I am a emotionally complex person)
5- grateful for all this year has brought
Now, I had a really amazing recipe for savory quinoa to share with you... but I failed to photograph it properly (and by photograph it properly I mean take photos of it in semi decent light with my iPhone...). So instead I have compiled a list of the best food blogs for you to scour to find your turkey day recipes!
A Cozy Kitchen has been preparing you for this day for weeks now with recipes for citrus dry-brined turkey and twice baked acorn squash, just for starters; her pie game is also on point so be sure to check out her desert section.
How Sweet Eats is fun, funny, and knows how to make even a classic dish like green beans become a show stopper on the turkey day table.
Want to impress the family while still making something as simple as roast vegetables? Do as Smitten Kitchen does and prepare a crispy sweet potato roast (I am all over this!).
Dessert is, of course, not to be over looked. Pastry Affair has you covered with this dairy free pumpkin pie, which is sure to please.
I will be on food patrol all week, finding recipes, creating tasty treats and sharing them with you all (hopefully)... of course I am fasting so I can eat an entire table of food on Thursday so I can't guarantee the recipes will be good (totally kidding... but maybe that's not a bad idea).
What do you have to bring to your Thanksgiving celebrations? And where did you find your recipe?
