We sat at the back counter, light pouring in through the windows lining the front of the coffee shop, warming the cool January air. We spoke of life, chaos, dreams, and disasters; letting the moments slip past.
After a half hour or so Becky looks over at me and says, "ok... so tell me the story."
I gazed back at her, took a deep breath and proceeded to allow my meandering vision to spill from the banks of my mind, to the shores of reality. "I want it to feel like La Vie en Rose!" was the final thought to come crashing forth and with that we knew exactly what needed to be done.
Props were purchased, emails sent, schedules made, licensing and permission granted, and before I knew it the big day had arrived.
I felt completely unprepared and overwhelmed, ready for the whole photo shoot to go up in smoke. But then...
Neph and Becky were poised with their cameras, Andy and Emily were groomed and ready to go. We took in a breath. The shutter opened and closed, magic captured in a fraction of a second; thousands of words frozen in space and time.
Here is their story:
He wasn't sure what to expect, they had met once or twice casually, but he couldn't help but to feel that today was the day everything would change.
She felt her heart skipping in her chest as she slipped into her favorite red dress and fiddled with the clasp of her grandmothers necklace, subtle and understated, not wanting to send the wrong message.
The day ahead held promise of something new, something good.
The roses were soft and sweet, the card holding a message only for her.
A fresh baguette and her favorite wine, a Côtes du Rhône, were nestled next to a note penned from her heart of hearts.
They were carried through their days. The market, the cafe, the city humming all around them.
Finally, as the suns final rays kissed the sky he spotted her.
She looked up the stairs and saw him standing there, a smile filling his dark features with light.
He reached for her hand.
She took his arm.
They sat in the park, across from the fountain and slipped the cards from their crimson sleeves. The air grew still. Their hearts fell into sync.
"I feel like I've seen you everywhere today." *
Je t'adore my darlings. My all your dreams find life in your realities.
